Power Packed Reunions
g

The alumni below can show you the endless possibilities for a power packed reunion. Their recipe for success is double the fun of any occasion by finding an old classmate, or six.

WEDDING Reunion

When Sally Turner 69 went looking for her former classmate and dorm buddy, Candy Sinicrope 69, she was thinking in terms of a reunion, not a wedding.

On September 3, 2012, surrounded by immediate family, six Turkey alumnus and one young boy who drifted into the photo, she married Phillip Sinicrope.

Sally had a great time visiting with new sister-in-law and old friend, Candy. The wedding was the first time they had seen each other in forty-four years.

VACATION Reunion

During the spring of 2012, Marietta Rouse 74 went on a three-week tour of Anatolia and Western Turkey. There were several reasons she chose this tour, "But one reason was that it started in Ankara and I hadn't been back to Ankara since I left about 40 years ago."

The first day of the tour during lunch in a restaurant at the Citadel, Frosty Miller 54 and Marietta chatted and discovered they had both attended Ankara High School. But 20 years apart!

Arkansas State Award
g

Suellyn Nanney (Fry) 60 has been an EMT instructor for about 20 years offering classes that include EMT's, C.E.R.T., First Aid, CPR and even babysitting. Filled with a great deal of information, it is not uncommon to see only a few people pass, but Suellyn pass rates are far above average. This summer she received the 2012 Instructor of the Year award at the Arkansas EMT Association EMS Conference.

There were 20 nominations submitted for this award, but Suellyn's nomination came with glowing letters of recommendation from Senator Randy Laverty, Representative Bryan King, County Judge Sam Barr and many others.

Suellyn is "humbled" by the award and appreciates the kind words of those who helped with the nomination.

She plans to juggle her position as a pharmacy tech at Mercy Hospital, a position she has held for 27 years, and teaching for a long time.
