FRANK LEO POTVIN (Age 74),
Of Woodbridge, VA, went to the Lord on December 7, 2001. He is survived
by his devoted wife Betty and his loving children, Frank, Michael,
Richard, Douglas, and Lisa and 11 grandchildren. Born in Shelburne, VT,
on January 18, 1927, Frank was the son of the late Frank O. and Margaret
Monniere Potvin. He graduated from Shelburne High School in 1944, where
he was the captain of the basketball and baseball teams. Served in the
U.S. Army during WWII. He graduated from St. Michael's College. He
taught at Jericho High School in Vermont for four years, coaching the
cross country team to the state championship in 1954. He was then a
teacher for the U.S.A.F. Dependent School System for five years,
teaching at bases in Turkey, Holland and France. Frank married Betty
Martin on June 10, 1960, in Chateaurous, France. He returned to the U.S.
in 1961 and was a beloved teacher of mathmatics and coach of track and
cross country at the Marine Corps Dependent School System's, Quantico
High School for the next 29 years. The family will receive friends from
6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 10 at MOUNTCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 4143 Dale
Blvd., Dale City, VA. Funeral Mass to be held at Quantico Marine
Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11. Interment to follow
at Quantico National Cemetery.
